We’ve all heard the old adage “The best offense is a good defense.” This phrase has many applications, including tree care. The goal of insecticide and fungicide applications is to keep your trees healthy, similar to the role of fertilizing — which adds missing nutrients. Spraying for fungus and insects help to repel those entities that are looking for opportunities to attack. It is much harder for insects and disease to attack your trees if they are healthy, than if they are under stress.
