Tree Care Tip of the Season
Prune deadwood
Prune dead or crossing branches and clear fallen leaves to prepare trees for winter. Avoid over-pruning to prevent stimulating frost-vulnerable new growth.
Water until the ground freezes
Deeply water trees before the ground freezes to help them stay hydrated during winter dormancy. Even in cold weather, trees get thirsty.
Refresh your mulch
Apply a 2-3 inch layer of organic mulch around the tree base, extending to the drip line. Keep mulch away from the trunk to prevent rot and insulate roots.
Plant trees in early fall
Plant new trees in early fall to take advantage of cooler temperatures and rainfall. Choose species suited to Cedar Rapids' climate and consult arborists for advice.

Yes, we are fully insured for all tree care services. This coverage protects both your property and our team in case of any accidents or damage during the job. Our insurance guarantees that if something unexpected happens, you won’t be held liable, and the work will be completed with the highest safety standards in place.
For an accurate estimate, we need to visit your property. Each tree and landscape is unique, and an in-person assessment allows us to evaluate factors like tree size, location, accessibility, and overall condition. This helps us provide a detailed, fair quote that reflects the specific needs of your project.
Before starting, we can discuss your preferences and any specific concerns, and our team will carry out the job to your specifications without you needing to be present. We’ll ensure everything is handled efficiently and will follow up with you afterward to confirm the job meets your expectations.
Yes, we provide tree care services year-round, including during the winter. In fact, winter is an ideal time for pruning many tree species because they are dormant, which minimizes stress on the tree and promotes faster recovery. Winter pruning also helps prevent diseases and pests that are more active during the growing season.
