The Arbor Masters Tree Removal Process
We have been working to develop our tree removal process and techniques since we founded our company in 1960. There are no surprises when working with us — we’ve outlined our process here so you know what to expect when you hire us.
Initial Consultation and Quote
An arborist will come out, inspect your tree, and get an idea of its condition, location, and the scope of the project. Once we know what the job will take, we’ll send you a digital quote that spells out the price and what we’ll do.
Permitting
Once you’ve accepted our quote, we’ll help you with the permitting process. We know all the neighborhoods of our service area that require permits, and we can help you with the process so everything is ready for removal.
Preparations
We’ll set up a perimeter once we arrive to keep everyone out of danger and away from the work. We also set up our equipment and tools to make things fast.
Efficient Removal
We’ll follow through with the plan as outlined in the quote, whether it involves using our bucket trucks, cranes, or climbing. We’ve trained all team members on the proper techniques during removals to make the process safer and quicker.
Clean-Up
Once we’ve removed the tree, we’ll clean up any debris and lawn damage. We’ll also ask you to inspect the area and ensure there’s nothing more we can do to leave you happy with your experience.
When to Remove a Tree
While we’d rather save a tree than remove it, some trees are beyond saving. Some of the common reasons we remove trees include:
Diseased Tree: Some tree diseases can kill trees, and the only thing to do is remove the tree and prevent the disease from spreading to other trees.
Storm Damage: A storm can leave a tree too weak to stand anymore, and saving it isn’t an option, necessitating removal.
Poor Location: We always advocate for planting a tree in the right place, but when it is an area that is too small, removal might be the only option.
Dead Tree: While dead trees can make a nice habitat for animals, they are also dangerous and prone to collapse.
Leaning: Trees should stand up straight. Leaning trees are prone to falling and pose a danger to your home and family.
Preparing for Oklahoma City Tree Removal
We’ll handle the tough part of the job when we arrive to remove your tree, but there are a few things we’ll ask from you beforehand. Some of the helpful things you can do for us include:
Unlock any gates: If you won’t be home during the tree removal, it’s no problem! But we ask you to please leave any gates open so we can have easy access to your trees.
Remove any lawn decorations: Lawn decorations and furniture can get in the way during tree removal, so we ask you to please move them out of the way before we arrive.
Keep all pets inside: Tree removal is noisy and can upset pets. To keep your pets safe and relaxed, please leave them indoors while we remove the tree.
Tree Removal Permits in the Oklahoma City Area
In general, you do not need a tree removal permit when removing a tree on private property in Oklahoma City. To remove a tree that is on public property, Oklahoma City ordinances require you to apply for a permit with the enforcement officer.
FAQs
Tree removal, especially for large trees, is extremely dangerous and not something a layperson can do without risking severe injury or death.
Tree topping is an outdated idea of caring for a tree that does more harm than good. It involves picking an arbitrary line and cutting everything above it to make a tree shorter. No ISA Certified Arborist will perform tree topping, as it harms the tree, makes it uglier and prone to failure.
Although we’d love to meet with you on the day of removal and walk you through the process, we understand people are busy. As long as we have easy access to the tree, we can take care of the job while you aren’t home.
We offer stump grinding as an additional service with a separate, dedicated team who can quickly grind the stump down to below the soil level. Just tell us during the initial consultation if you want stump grinding and we can take care of it for you.
