When to Remove a Tree
At Advantage, an Arbor Masters company, we always aim to save trees when possible. However, removal is sometimes the best option for the health and safety of your landscape. Here are some key signs that a tree might need to be removed:
Severe storm damage that has compromised the tree's structure
Advanced decay or disease that has weakened the tree beyond recovery
Sudden leaning or structural instability that poses a risk of falling
Interference with buildings, walkways, or driveways
Root disturbance to hardscapes or underground utilities
Overcrowding that harms the health and growth of nearby trees
Preparation for new construction or landscaping projects
If you're unsure whether a tree needs to be removed, our arborists can provide expert advice during an onsite inspection. In some cases, pruning, structural support, or other tree preservation techniques might be a good alternative to removal.

Our Tree Removal Process
What to Expect When You Hire Us
Initial Assessment
We start with a thorough evaluation of the tree and surrounding area to develop a safe removal plan. Our arborists consider factors like the tree's size, health, location, and access to determine the best approach.
Safety Preparation
Our team sets up protective measures to safeguard your property during the removal process, while also setting up a staging area to handle debris. This includes placing protective mats on lawns to protect it from heavy equipment.
Precise Cutting
Using advanced techniques and equipment, we carefully dismantle the tree section by section. For larger trees, we may use rope systems or cranes to safely lower branches and trunk sections.
Efficient Hauling
We remove all large debris from your property, leaving it clean and tidy. Our team uses chippers to process smaller branches on-site, while larger sections are hauled away for proper recycling and disposal.
Optional Stump Grinding
If desired, we can grind the remaining stump below ground level. This process eliminates the stump and roots, allowing you to reclaim the space for new plantings or landscaping. Stump grinding often happens a few days or weeks after removal.
Using the Most Advanced Equipment for Safe Tree Removals
At Advantage, an Arbor Masters company, we use the latest technology and equipment to ensure every tree removal is done safely and efficiently:
Specialized cranes for large or hard-to-reach trees
Compact lifts to elevate our team when climbing is unsafe
Powerful chippers to process debris on-site
High-quality climbing and rigging gear
Forestry trucks with buckets for elevated work
Our investment in top-notch equipment allows us to handle any tree removal job in Davenport, no matter how big or complex.

Stump grinding is an optional service that we offer after tree removal. We can provide a quote for stump grinding along with your removal estimate. Most of the time, stump grinding happens a few days after removal. Sump grinding after removal allows you to regain full control over your yard.
For safety reasons, we can't remove trees that are directly touching power lines. In these cases, it's best to contact your local utility provider. They can either handle the tree removal directly, or they can coordinate with us to turn the power off, allowing us to safely remove the tree.
We chip smaller branches and either leave the chips on-site for you to use as mulch or deliver them to nearby homeowners looking for mulch. Logs can be broken down into smaller logs and left on site, or removed and turned into mulch later on.
Most of the time, it’s not necessary for you to be home while we remove a tree. All the details will be ironed out ahead of time during the initial site visit. So, feel free to go to work and leave the tree removal to us.
