High-Quality Tree Support Systems

Arbor Masters Tree Support Systems

Tree support systems can help protect your trees from damage and promote their recovery. Arbor Masters offers expert cabling and bracing services to strengthen trees and help them withstand harsh weather conditions. These techniques can also be used to correct pruning mistakes and improve tree health.

Cabling

We install either high-strength dynamic braided nylon cables or high-tension static steel cables to support weak sections of the tree.

Bracing

Bracing is a more invasive process where we insert a steel rod through weak branch crotches to provide a better internal structure to a tree.

The Importance of Tree Support Systems

Cabling and bracing are vital services for trees, but homeowners do not take advantage of these services from tree care companies as much as they should. Having a professional install tree support systems has numerous benefits for you and your trees, including:

Protecting Your Family and Property

Weak sections of a tree are dangerous and can snap off during a storm and damage your property or injure someone. While cabling and bracing cannot make a tree 100 percent safe, it can lower the risk of weak branches snapping off.

Saving You Money on Tree Care

Cabling and bracing lowers the risk of a tree emergency or failure. Removing a tree is costly, and cabling and bracing are a small cost to avoid the significant headache of removing the tree.

Enjoying a Tree’s Benefits Longer

Trees increase property value, provide shade, increase curb appeal, and lower cooling costs. Cabling and bracing can help them remain standing and allow you to continue to enjoy a tree’s benefits longer.

Our Tree Support Process

We follow a standard procedure every time we cable and brace your trees to make the process easier for you and us. When you hire us to cable and brace your tree, the process will look like this:

When Cabling and Bracing Are Needed

Cabling and bracing can help trees that have been damaged by storms or have structural weaknesses. It can be difficult for most people to identify trees that need this support, which is why our expert ISA Certified Arborists can provide accurate assessments. We typically recommend cabling and bracing for trees that exhibit the following signs:

  • Trees with Heavy Limbs: Tree limbs that grow overly long or too heavy are more prone to breaking from wind or storm damage.

  • Trees with Storm Damage: Storms can significantly weaken trees and sections, leaving them more prone to breaking in subsequent storms.

  • Trees Growing Near Structures: Trees near structures pose more significant risks when they fail, and stabilizing them can protect property and people.

  • Trees with Multiple Trunks: A tree with multiple trunks is more prone to failure than one with a singular trunk.

Tree Support Systems FAQs

While our cabling equipment is durable, it will not last forever. Cables will wear down over time due to the elements, and a tree's natural growth will lessen a cable's effectiveness. Have an arborist examine your structural support yearly to determine if they need to replace it.

While cabling and bracing will increase your tree’s safety, there is no way to make a tree 100 percent safe. Always use caution around a tree, especially during a storm.

Cabling and bracing often go together, as they work well in conjunction. We may suggest only cabling for your tree, but bracing is only ever done with cabling.
